This year's 4th was celebrated in a somewhat traditional fashion with a BBQ at the Sassafras stone house (out in Wildwood where I grew up) and an afternoon by the pool. It was a lovely day and we enjoyed watching all the little ones (the cousin's kids) run and chase each other about. When we were younger, we would have a parade and decorate various forms of transportation- a wagon, bicycle, tractor, riding lawn mower- whatever we could manage. We'd also have turtle races, water balloon tosses, and an annual baseball game. It was a highlight of the summer.
